Strangers' Church, Austin Friars : ウィキペディア英語版 | Strangers' Church, Austin Friars
The Protestants Strangers' Church was set up in Austin Friars, City of London, England, to cater to the Protestant community of 'Germans and other strangers.'〔Holder, Nick (2011). "The Medieval Friaries of London (PhD thesis)". University of London.〕 Its minister was Jan Laski, a Polish Protestant, and it was patronised by Katherine, Duchess of Suffolk. The congregation received a grant of the Austin or Augustinian Friars Church off Threadneedle Street which still remains the site of the city's Dutch Protestant Church, the church itself having been destroyed in World War II. Upon incorporation, the church was renamed the "Temple of the Lord Jesus" and given four pastors: two for the Dutch church, and two for the French/Walloon church meeting in St. Anthony's Chapel. ==References==
